Mark making was one of the most important research areas in this class. Through this research, students were required to focus on the variety of marks made using one tool and one medium to make different patterns. They were totally free to choose their tool and the medium. They were free to even invent them. For example, they were encouraged to use their fingers, combs, feathers, springs, rocks etc. After creating a great amount of patterns, students started to design a motion from their works. In addition, they were encouraged to compose the music they intended to add to their movie. Through this research, students not only learned how they can create pleasant visuals just by using one medium or a tool, but also they gained the experience of applying their works to a digital medium.
